ABOUT

This 6-week course is designed to help you build strong and clear foundations in your yoga practice. Each session blends mindful breathwork, functional movement, biomechanical awareness, and slow, intentional sequencing. The approach is inspired by the pillars of a style called Forrest Yoga—deep breathing, core connection, integrity, and building strength with sensitivity—while also drawing on modern movement principles and gentle flow.

Across the six weeks, you’ll learn practical skills to help you feel steadier, more connected, and confident on the mat. This course is suitable for complete beginners as well as those wanting to refresh their foundations.

YOGA FOUNDATIONS - WEEK BY WEEK

Week 1

Breath & Awareness

Learn the foundations of breath awareness, reduce stress, and “breathe into a spot” to release tension and build focus.

Week 2

Core & Basic Moves

Explore key stabilising techniques and basic moves to support strength and alignment, both essential for your fitness journey as well as moving well in life.

Week 3

Shoulders & Upper Back

Build strong, healthy shoulders and improve posture with functional mobility and mindful strength work.

Week 4

Hips, Low Back & Standing Poses

Improve hip mobility, support your lower back, and feel more grounded in everyday movements.

Week 5

Heat, Flow & Moving Well

Put it all together in simple, steady flow sequences—building heat, moving with integrity, and finding pleasure in the practice.

Week 6

Integration Practice

A full, balanced session combining breath, strength, mobility, and relaxation to bring everything together.

Sarah Leyla

Sarah Leyla is a yoga teacher and Health Creation mentor and coach who specialises in making movement accessible, supportive, and enjoyable for all. Her classes combine breathwork, functional movement, and steady, clear instruction to help people feel stronger, move better, and unwind from the demands of everyday life.

Sarah’s approach is warm, encouraging, and easy to follow—ideal for complete beginners, regular gym-goers, and anyone looking to build confidence on the mat. She focuses on helping students move with good form, healthy biomechanics, and a sense of ease, so they leave each class feeling grounded, capable, and more connected to their bodies.
